Out on the flat stretch of US-87 where the Texas Panhandle meets the New Mexico line, Dalhart BPOE 2390 has been holding down the corner of North Jefferson Street for generations. This isn't a polished event venue or a corporate social club. It's a working lodge, run by members who actually show up, where a handshake still means something and a stranger rolling through town gets treated like a neighbor.

The lodge earned its 4.5-star reputation the old-fashioned way, one traveler at a time. RV campers pulling off I-54 consistently call it one of the friendliest stops between Amarillo and Santa Fe. Members keep the four RV sites level, hooked up with 30-amp power and water, and the welcome mat is always out. For a $20 donation, it's the kind of stop you tell other travelers about.

Beyond the overnight crowd, Lodge 2390 is woven into the fabric of Dalhart itself. The Elks have been funding scholarships, supporting veterans, and feeding communities since the order's founding in 1868, and this lodge carries that mission forward in one of the most genuinely small-town corners of Texas.

What We Offer

The lodge runs a full-service bar and kitchen that members and their guests look forward to all week. The food has a reputation for being worth the effort of finding a member to get you in, which around Dalhart isn't hard. Think honest, hearty plates suited to people who work hard and eat well.

RV camping is one of the lodge's best-kept secrets. Four sites with 30-amp service and water hookups sit on level ground right on the property. At $20 per night by donation, it's a practical and genuinely pleasant overnight for travelers crossing the Panhandle. The hosts are members, not paid staff, which makes all the difference.

Beyond food and lodging, Lodge 2390 hosts regular member events, card nights, and charitable fundraisers that keep the community calendar full. Elks membership also opens the door to a national network of over 2,000 lodges, meaning your card gets you a warm welcome from Dalhart to Bangor.

"This was a great place to camp as we were traveling through to our final destination. For the $20 donation, it was well worth it. The people were very friendly. It would have been nice to have been there when they were serving a meal because I'm sure the food is good. If we come through this way again, we will definitely stay again."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
